In Gujarat, the government today allowed export-oriented industries located in the city areas across the state to resume operations if they have pending orders. But, the industrial units situated in coronavirus containment zones will not get such relief. AIR correspondent reports CMO Secretary Ashwini Kumar said those export-oriented industries which have already taken export orders can resume operations from April 25th after obtaining due permission from the district collector. The decision is however not applicable for the units located in containment zones of the city. Mr Kumar said these units need to follow the standard safety procedures, like masks for workers and social distancing, to contain the spread of coronavirus. The state government earlier allowed industrial units situated outside cities to start operations from April 20. As many as 35,000 factories in the state have already started production with the help of over three lakh workers. <br />
