The Election Commission has announced the schedule for Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. In Himachal Pradesh, single phase polling will take place on the 4th of next month, while a two phase polling will take place in Gujarat on the 13th and 17th of December.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath said, all necessary arrangements have been made for the conduct of free and fair polls in both states.

Counting for both states will take place on the 20th of December.The BJP and the Congress have welcomed the annoucement.
