They joined at the party's state headquarters in Gandhinagar in the presence of State BJP President Jitu Vaghani. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Talking to reporters, Alpesh Thakor said that he joined the BJP for the development of the poor and rural people. He also said that he joined the party with a nationalist ideology and will take all people along.<br />'' <br />'' AIR correspondent reports that OBC leader Alpesh Thakor and his close aide Dhavalsinh Zala had resigned as Congress MLAs on 5th July after cross-voting in favour of the BJP candidates during the by-elections of two seats of Rajya Sabha in Gujarat. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Both Alpesh Thakor and Dhavalsinh Zala had campaigned against the Congress during the recent Lok Sabha elections in the state. Alpesh Thakor was elected as Congress MLA from Radhanpur seat from North Gujarat, while Dhavalsinh Zala was elected as Congress MLA from Bayad seat.</span>
