Gujarat: COVID-19 cases reach 8,904, Industrial activities resume in many areas

<span style="color: #222222;">In Gujarat, 362 fresh cases were reported yesterday taking the total number of cases to 8,904. Principal Secretary of health department Dr Jayanti Ravi said the discharge rate has been improved by four percent in the state yesterday as many as 466 people were discharged from various hospitals.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Industrial activities have been resumed in more than 135 Municipalities areas of the state. CMO Secretary Ashwini Kumar said around 8 lakhs workers have joined the work so far. He said more than 68 percent of electricity is being used for industrial purposes which shows normalcy in industrial activity. The state government has also allowed industrial and business units to resume operations from May 14 in Rajkot city area except for containment zones.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Ahmedabad, the government is easing the lockdown norms. All the vegetable and grocery shops which have been closed for a week will be reopened from 15th May with strict conditions. The state has so far sent around 3 lakh migrant workers to their native states. </span><br />''  <br />
