In Gujarat, the 202 Birth Anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of Braille Script for the visually impaired is being celebrated today. AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that born in a small French town in 1809, Louis Braille had invented a Braille Script at the age of 12 years, which had revolutionized the lives of blind people. Series of programs have been organized in Ahmedabad to mark the occasion, which include launching of Braille calendar, Braille Computer Instruction Book, Braille Magazine-‘Zarmar’ and Kids Encyclopedia Gujarati, all in Braille script. AIR correspondent adds that All India Radio- Ahmedabad has arranged for reading of evening Regional News bulletin by a Blind person-which will be prepared in the Braille script.
