Gujarat Assembly adjourns after noisy scenes

Gujarat Assembly today adjourned after noisy scenes over the issue of law and order situation in the state. Opposition Congress party demanded discussion on law and order situation under rule 108 soon after the question hour by moving adjournment motion, but Speaker disallowed it. After noisy scenes by the members of Opposition and ruling party, the Speaker adjourned the house till the recess. Talking to the media persons, the Senior Congress leader Mr. Sidharth Patel said that more than dozen senior police officers including former Minister of State for Home Amit Shah was in jail for serious charges and opposition demanded debate over the issue, but Speaker did not allow it. Earlier, during the question hour, unruly scenes witnessed over the question of illegal mining in the state and action against the culprit. Opposition members alleged that Government is providing political protection to the mining Mafia in the state and not taking stern action against the illegal mining.
