Gujarat: Amdavad Municipal Corporation slaps fine of Rs 77 lakh on Hospital

<span style="color: #222222;">In Gujarat, Amdavad Municipal Corporation has slapped a fine of 77 lakh rupees on a city based trust run Rajasthan Hospital. The fine was imposed for not allowing a bed with a ventilator to an advanced stage Covid19 patient for 45 minutes on 18th June, which resulted in the death of the patient. <br />''<br />''According to MoU signed with the hospital, 50 percent beds have been kept reserved for patients sent by Municipal corporation. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has also filed police complaints against the Rajasthan Hospital.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, the Gujarat High Court had also ordered AMC to take immediate strict action against the hospital in response to one PIL. According to AMC sources, Rajasthan Hospital has been asked to pay Rs.25 lakh fine immediately. In addition to this, all trustees and members of Board of Management have been asked to pay Rs.2 lakh fine individually, amounting to Rs.52 lakh. In an official release, AMC said that the amount generated through the fine will be spent for treatment of Covid19 patients.</span><br />''
