In Gujarat, a special court today turned down a petition seeking stay on court proceedings in the 2002 Gulbarg Society massacre case. Judge BJ Dhandha observed that the Supreme Court has stayed the pronouncement in the case and not asked to stop the trial.The advocate for the victims SM Vohra had sought stay on the court proceedings till the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team, SIT, filed a charge sheet in the case.AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that Supreme Court had referred the matter to the lower court in Ahmedabad for a decision.
