Guj Polls: Cong to field suspended IPS officer Bhatt's wife against CM Modi

In Gujarat, Chief Minister Narendra Modi will file his nomination papers as BJP candidate from Maninagar seat in Ahmedabad city today. Congress has decided to field Shweta Bhatt, the wife of suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt against Narendra Modi.

In yet another development, Congress has decided to field its senior leader and former Chief Minister Shankarsinh Waghela from Kapadwanj seat. Former Home Minister for State in Modi Government and prime accused in Sohrabudding Shaikh fake encounter case Amit Shah will also file his nomination papers from Naranpura seat today.

Our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that large numbers of candidates are likely to file their nomination papers for 95 Assembly Constituencies for the second phase of filing nominations ends today. 846 candidates are in final fray in the first phase of polling to take place on 13th of December.
