Guj CM Narendra Modi not to appear before SIT today

In Gujarat, the Chief Minister Narendra Modi will not appear before Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Sunday in connection with summons against him. According to the sources, the Special Investigation Team has not received any response from the Chief Minister or his office regarding his appearing before it. <br/> <br/>Quoting sources, AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that Chief Minister Modi is still consulting legal opinion on whether he needs to make a personal appearance before SIT or not. <br/> <br/>The SIT had issued summons to him on March 11, to present himself for questioning today. The SIT is conducting an inquiry on directives from the Supreme Court into the complaint filed by Zakia Jafry. <br/> <br/>She had alleged that Modi, his cabinet colleagues, police officials and senior bureaucrats aided and abetted the riots that left over 1,000 people dead. The former MP Ehsan Jafry was killed along with 68 others by a mob at Gulbarg Society on 28th February, 2002.<br/><br/>
