The government has increased the capacity of consumer helpline on GST from 14 to 60. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said ,the capacity of the helpline has been increased to make consumers aware of the new price of commodities which have come down following the imposition of GST. He said, trained professionals have been engaged to address the concerns of consumers related to GST. <br/><br/>The national consumer helpline is 14404. The Minister also said, the government will take legal action against vendors not declaring revised MRP after the GST. An official notification issued by the government said the packaging material or wrapper not exhausted prior to 1st ofJuly may be used for packing till 30th of September. The government has also introduced an anti-profiteering provision that mandates companies, which benefit from lower indirect taxes to pass on the benefits to consumers in terms of lower prices.
