GST revenue should be based according to state's population: Tamil Nadu FM

<span style="color: #222222;">Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiyagarajan has said that GST revenue should be based according to the population of the state. Speaking to the media at Chennai today, he told that the Centre should not collect GST for medical equipments related to treatment of COVID at least for some period.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Reminiscing on the GST Council meeting held yesterday, the Minister suggested that the revenue sharing formula needs to be relooked.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He told that the Centre had a pending payment of Rs. 12,000 crore compensation to Tamil Nadu.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He told that proper representation should be given to states which are rendering more revenue and wanted a proper strong restructuring of GST Council.</span><br />''  <br />
