GST in interest of the nation: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who attended all party meeting said that GST legislation is in the interest of the nation. <br/><br/>Quoting Prime minister, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said Finance Minister will speak to all parties to address their doubt on GST bill. <br/><br/>Prime minister also said Parliament should run constructively and fulfills people's expectations. <br/> <br/>Earlier, chairing the all party meeting, Parliamentary affairs minister M Venkaiah Naidu today said democracy is all about debate and discussion. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu opined government is aware of opposition's concern over some unfortunate incidents happened in recent weeks and neither the government nor his party has nothing to do with this. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said such incidents lie in the domain of state governments who are vested with the responsibility of maintaining law and order. He said, there may be political differences but it should not come in the way of serving the cause of people and making Parliament an effective instrument in enabling development of the nation. Mr Naidu said GST Bill is significant for giving a push to economic activity. He appealed to all parties to enable passing of GST.<br/>Among others, Home minister Rajnath Singh, Finance minister Arun Jaitley, Leader of Congress party in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Ghulam Nabi Azad , Jyotiraditya Scindia, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury attended the meeting. <br/>On the first two days of the session, starting tomorrow, the two houses will hold special sittings to commemorate the adoption of Indian Constitution on 26th November 1949 and honour its architect, Dr. B R Ambedkar.
