Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said, GST has been implemented to bring uniform taxation all over India. Speaking at dissemination meet on GST at Madurai today, she said only 5 per cent GST has been charged on products above 20 lakh rupees. The Minister pointed out that no tax is being charged below 20 lakhs. Responding to queries on GST being charged on packaged idli batter, she promised to take necessary action to resolve the problems.<br/><br/>Eighteen committees have been formed to disseminate information on GST all over the country and each committee will visit different cities and towns every Saturday.<br/>
