GST council, headed by Union Finance minister Arun Jaitley, will meet tomorrow in Guwahati. <br/><br/>The council will review the impact of the new tax regime in the first quarter of its implementation.<br/><br/>Mr. Jaitley has said that GST Council is likely to take up the issue of benami properties. In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, Mr.Jaitley said, the Council is also likely to take up the issue of bringing real estate sector under the GST.<br/><br/>Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, the meeting is important as it would review the progress of the new tax regime three months after it was rolled out. <br/><br/>Exemption to small traders, issues related to MRP and the impact of the new tax regime on the small-scale industry are among the issues likely to be taken up at the meeting.<br/><br/>Besides the rate fitment committee, there is a Group of Ministers headed by Mr Sarma which is working on making the GST composition scheme more attractive. <br/><br/>Another committee is working on the GST network.
