GST, biggest revolutionary reform in Indian economy: Kalraj Mishra

Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Kalraj Mishra today said that rolling out of GST presents great opportunities to MSMEs and it is the biggest revolutionary reform in Indian economy. <br/> <br/>Addressing media personnel at a National Workshop on GST Readiness and Digital MSME programme in New Delhi, Mr Mishra said by rolling out GST, cascading of taxes will be overcome and this will significantly reduce the tax burden.<br/><br/>Mr. Mishra said, government is giving special focus to the development of MSMEs all over the country and implementation of GST will prove to be the best instrument in this regard.<br/><br/>He said, GST will pave the way for a formal economy hence will give a fillip to growth and employment generation. He said, therefore, MSMEs should see this as an opportunity rather than a challenge.'<br/><br/>He added that digital MSME scheme has been launched to sensitise and encourage MSMEs towards new approach, that is, cloud computing for ICT adoption in their production and business process with a view to improve their competitiveness in national and international market.
