Growing scope for cooperation between India, China: Prez

The President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil said today in Beijing that there is growing scope for cooperation between India and China. <br/><br/>Addressing a function to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic relations between India and China, she said that both the countries focus their developmental goals. She said, there is enormous potential for cooperation and it can be realised in times to come.<br/><br/>The President said, in the international arena to our common interests and shared concerns provide the basis for working together. She said that her discussions with Chinese leadership has emphasised the note worthy progress in recent years and charted the cause of further progress. She said in this age of globalisation and seamless communication are vibrant and people still need to remain at the centre of our relations.<br/><br/>Addressing the function, Chinese Vice-President XI JINDING said that China and India relationship has gone beyond bilateral scope and acquiring global significance. He said to seek development in peaceful, open and cooperative manner, is and will always remain our best option as it serves interest of both the countries.<br/><br/>The function was organised by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with foreign countries and Embassy of India in Beijing jointly. On this occasion, Chinese girl students presented a very colourful and attractive cultural programme. On this occasion several prominent dignitaries from both the countries were present.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day, the President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil expressed confidence that India's friendship with China will deepen, expand and diversify. On the third day of her visit to China she met Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Chairman Mr. Jia Quinglin in Beijing this afternoon.<br/><br/>Mrs Patil said that her talks with Chinese leadership was very fruitful and positive. She said, both sides shared vision that will take the strategic and cooperative relationship between the two countries to greater heights. <br/><br/>The President said, both the countries are facing similar issues and are working together to fulfill the aspirations of the people. Earlier welcoming the President, Mr. Jia Quinglin congratulated Mrs. Patil for successful talks with the Chienese leadership wherein three agreements were signed.
