Gross direct tax collection grows 16.7% to Rs 5.47 lakh crore in April-September

The provisional gross collections of Direct Tax up to September this year is higher than the collections for the corresponding period of last year. It is 16.7 per cent higher at 5.47 lakh crore rupees. 
Finance Ministry, in a release, today said the refunds amounting to 1.03 lakh crore rupees have been issued during April to September this year which is 30.4 per cent higher than the amount issued during the same period in the preceding year.

Net collections have also increased by 14 per cent to 4.44 lakh crore rupees during April to September. 

An amount of 2.10 lakh crore has been collected as Advance Tax, which is 18.7 per cent higher than the Advance Tax collections during the corresponding period of last year.
