Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said great saints have taken birth in the country in different ages to eradicate social evils and show path to salvation. Mr Modi was speaking through video conferencing on the occasion of 7th centenary celebrations of Jagadguru Madhvacharya. <br/><br/>He said Jagadguru Madhvacharya was one of the great saints of Bhakti movement in the country. He said Madhvacharya was instrumental in bringing social change and reforms. <br/><br/>Mr Modi said, during the Bhakti movement, saints from across the country, worked to bring a higher consciousness in society and eradicated social evils like casteism and untouchability.
