To help the victims of human trafficking and other crimes, who are currently taking shelter under the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) programme, the Great Indian Run 2011 was organised in Dubai. Around 1,400 volunteers took part in the 4.6 km run, which was organised by all Kerala College Alumni Forum and DFWAC. Consul General of India in Dubai Sanjay Verma flagged off the run in the presence of large number of people. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Verma said that the event is a real show of solidarity with the efforts of the UAE to help victims of such crimes.
