In the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, three Indian wrestlers, Yogeshwar Dutt, Pawan Kumar and Babita Kumari will be seen in action today.
While Yogeshwar, in the 65 kg division, and Pawan, in the 86 kg section, will play their pre-quarterfinal bouts, Babita Kumari will figure in the quarterfinals of the 55 kg category. India have, so far, bagged 9 medals in Wrestling. These include 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 1 Bronze.
In Badminton, PV Sindhu, P. Kashyap, Srikanth K., RMV Gurusaidutt and PC Thulasi will play for quarterfinal berths today. The Indian Men's and Women's Doubles teams will also play their pre-quarterfinal matches.
In Hockey, the Indian Men's team will clash with South Africa in their final preliminary round game.
All India Radio will broadcast live commentary on the match from 8:25 PM onwards. The Indian Women's team yesterday crashed out in the preliminary round of the Games after losing to South Africa, 2-3.
In Athletics, Vikas Gowda will vie for top honours when he takes part in the Men's Discus throw final today. 2010 Commonwealth Games Gold medalist Krishna Poonia and Seema Punia will figure in the Women's Discus throw event, while Tintu Luka will try her luck in the Women's 800 metres semi-finals.
In Diving, Sidharth Pardeshi and Ramananda K. will be seen in action in the preliminary round of Men's 3-metre Springboard event.
Squash, Table Tennis and Lawn Bowls will also witness Indian participation.
England is, currently, at the top of the medal tally with 38 Gold, 35 Silver and 32 Bronze.
Australia is second with 35 Gold, 32 Silver and 39 Bronze, and Canada is third with 22 Gold, 7 Silver and 22 Bronze. India is at the sixth position having 10 Gold, 19 Silver and 12 Bronze medals.
