In view of the ongoing Swachta Hi Seva Abhiyan, various programmes focusing on Plastic Waste Management are going on in various Gram Panchayats in Kargil district of Ladakh. <br />''<br />''In this connection, a programme was organized in Gram Panchayat Trespone B, during which all the Panch along with the people of 11 Halqas participated and collected a large amount of plastic waste. On this occasion, the Officer In-Charge of Child Development Project Office Tai Suru Parveen Akhtar gave a brief demonstration on Plastic Waste Management and ways to dispose of plastic waste. She also gave a detailed presentation on the hazards of Plastic if it was not managed and decomposed properly.<br />''<br />''Ms Akhtar requested the people to stop using one-time plastic and start using eco-friendly bags and urged the self-help groups to make eco-friendly bags which will not only help in keeping the environment clean and safe but will also become a source of income to unemployed youths. <br />''<br />''Sarpanch of the area requested the people to take pledge to stop using plastics which not only pollutes the environment but also effects the health of the children.<br />
