Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi today spoke out strongly against the cancer of corruption and rising graft and greed. They said these are putting the very basis of Independent India in danger.They were speaking at a function organised to commemorate birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi in New Delhi today.Singh said that there is a tide of rising expectations accompanying high economic growth and the Government confronts the challenge of getting rid of the cancer of corruption in public life.Sonia Gandhi said the country's economy may increasingly be dynamic, but our moral universe seems to be shrinking. She said graft and greed are on the rise.
