Law Minister Sadananda Gowda today hit out at AIMIM party MP Asaduddin Owaisi for his controversial remarks about the death sentence of 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon. Owaisi had said that Memon is being hanged only because he belongs to a particular religion. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr. Gowda said such statements show mentality of the MP. He said people who have nationalistic approach will not talk like this. The Minister said Memon deserved such punishment as he had committed a grave crime. <br/><br/>Addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad yesterday, Mr. Owaisi accused the Centre of indulging in religious discrimination. He also alleged that killers of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh are not being executed because of political pressure. <br/>Yesterday, Memon moved the Supreme Court seeking stay of execution of his death sentence scheduled to take palace on 30th of this month.
