Govt's responsibility to ensure smooth functioning of Parliament: Yechury

CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury today said the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu should request the Prime Minister to act against top BJP leaders for their involvement in different controversies instead of appealing to the opposition. Mr Yechury told reporters that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure smooth functioning of both the Houses.

He said, there should be an investigation against Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje for helping Lalit Modi and till then both the leaders should be asked to stay away from the office. When asked that National Investigation Agency probing the 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings will not challenge the conditional bail granted to main accused Swami Aseemanand, Mr Yechury said, this shows that the government wants communal polarization in the country.
