Power Minister Piyush Goyal today said India has shown the world that it will assume a leadership position when it comes to green and clean energy. <br/><br/>Speaking at a function on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day in New Delhi, Mr Goyal said government's objective is to generate one lakh mega watt of solar power by 2022. He said that the Ministry has similar ambitious plans for wind energy. <br/><br/>The Minister said that India has the ability to double power generation in the next three to four years. Mr Goyal said days of power and coal shortages will soon become part of history. <br/><br/>On the occasion, the Minister presented National Energy Conservation Awards and released a film on energy efficiency and conservation.
