He added that India contributes in a big way for making medicines affordable for people in many countries.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">The Health Minister said that since 2014, government has worked to extend affordable healthcare through various programmes including cashless treatment, opening health and wellness centres, and popularising generic medicines through Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Speaking on the occasion, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said the challenge of making affordable medicines available to the people is a key area of today's conference. He said the global debate on how to make health access more affordable has brought everyone together. He said he defined health in terms of three As – affordable, accessible and available.</span></p>
