BJP President Amit Shah has said government's decision to hike the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat and pulses is historica and will help realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal to double farmers' income. In a statement, Mr Shah said, it will not only bring happiness to the lives of farmers but also make India self-reliant in pulses. <br/><br/>BJP president said that for the first time the Centre has made arrangements to buy crops on MSP so that farmers do not have to run around to get proper price for their produce. Citing the rise in MPS in lentils since the BJP-led NDA government came to power in 2014, he said it has done in two and a half years what earlier governments had not done for <br/>decades.
