<span style="color: #222222;">Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the Government's commitment towards reduction in imports and modernisation of armed forces with indigenous technology has been given further impetus in this budget.<br />'' <br />'' Speaking at the Valedictory Session of the Webinar on 'Aatmanirbharta in Defence-Call to Action, the Minister today said, Prime Minister's vision has been aptly reflected in this year's budget announcements which have given further impetus to self-reliance in Defence.<br />'' <br />'' He said, Centre is progressively increasing the Capital procurement budget for the domestic industry, with 68 per cent of the capital procurement budget earmarked for 2022-23. He said, it has been announced in the budget that Defence Research and Development will be opened up for industry, startups and academia. He said, 25 percent of Defence R&amp;D budget has also been earmarked for this purpose. He expressed confidence that in the near future, country will witness many projects being undertaken by the private industry for design and development of military platforms and equipment in collaboration with DRDO and other organizations.<br />'' <br />''Mr. Singh said, creating a Made in India brand also necessitates rigorous testing and trials of indigenous products as per international standards.</span><br />
