Govt would continue to give rice at Rs 3/kg and wheat at Rs 2/kg till next June: Ram Vilas Paswan

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan today said in Chandigarh  that the government would continue to give rice at rupees three per kilogram and wheat at rupees two per kilogram till next June. He said that Food Security Act was implemented in 2013 and the union government has not made any increase in the subsidized price of PDS item. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Paswan said that there are 81 crore beneficiaries in the entire country including 1.49 crore in Punjab and 1.26 crore in Haryana and government is giving 1 lakh 40 crore subsidy on PDS items.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Paswan said that as a result of corrective measures taken by his ministry, 2 crore 62 lakh fake ration cards came into noticed.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that ,in Chandigarh, Pondicherry and Dadra Nagar Haveli,  the PDS beneficiaries of various schemes are being given subsidy direct into their bank accounts on pilot basis so that they can purchase food according to their choice.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Paswan said that under the leadership of Mr Narendra Modi, the country has gained reputation at the international level.</span><br />
