Govt. works out a development package for 33 Maoist infested districts

The Government has worked out a development package for 33 Maoist infested districts in the country for the integrated progress of those areas. The cabinet secretary K M Chandrasekhar said this in Hyderabad on Friday . He made it clear that there is no dearth of funds to implement the proposed package and all the socio-economic issues in the affected areas would be addressed by pooling up resources from different ministries. Speaking to reporters at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy after delivering a memorial lecture, Mr Chandrasekhar said that the Planning Commission has fully supported the proposal given by the home ministry. He said that the aim was to win the hearts and minds of the people in the Maoist affected areas. Stating that huge amount for the proposed package would be allotted, he said that 7,300 crore rupees would be spent on road development alone in the Naxal infested districts. <br/>
