Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that government is working on ways to raise the number of online Haj applicants to 70 per cent from the 11 per cent recorded last year. <br/><br/>Mr Naqvi said, the Centre will request the Saudi government to increase the quota for Indian Haj pilgrims. He said, last year only 45,843 people applied online for the Haj pilgrimage, which is 11 per cent of total applications received. <br/><br/>Mr Naqvi was in Mumbai to preside over a meeting of All India Haj Umrah Tour Organisers Association. During the meeting, the Minister said that the Centre is committed to provide best of services and facilities to Haj Pilgrims.
