Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh today said, the government is sensitive to the need to strengthen the market systems to double farmers' income. <br/><br/>Speaking at a conference organized by Federation of Indian chambers of commerce and Industries (FICCI) in New Delhi, The Minister said that there was positive response from all states for the Model Agriculture Produce and Livestock Marketing (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2017. <br/><br/>He further added that his ministry is tirelessly working for the consolidation of Mandis by means of On-line bidding and payments.<br/><br/>The union minister urged all the state governments to declare warehouses, silos and cold storages as market sub-yards to benefit farmers to sell produce directly. <br/><br/>The post harvest losses, uncertainties of production and price fall are the major issues which are plaguing the farmers. The robust market systems are very much crucial to realize the dream of doubling farmers income by 2022.
