Govt working holistically in health sector with synergy between preventive health care, modern medical facilities: Health Minister

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has said that the government is working holistically in the health sector with synergy between preventive health care and modern medical facilities. Along with reducing the cost of treatment of the poor, efforts are also being made to rapidly increase the number of doctors. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the OPD and IPD blocks at Lady Hardinge Medical College and associated hospital in New Delhi today.</span> <br />''<br />''The Minister added that this year, when the country is celebrating 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', there is a need to work together with a vision of how India's health infrastructure will be when it will complete 100 years of independence. Dr. Mandaviya said, the State Governments play a very crucial role in implementation of any programme launched by the Centre and during the 'Swasthya Chintan Shivir' held at Kevadia, all State Health Ministers shared their best practices.He further said that 'Jan Bhagidari' is very important for the implementation of any action plan, programme or scheme. <br />''<br />''The Minister said, making health facilities accessible, affordable and patient-friendly is very important.<br />''Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State Dr. Bharati  Pawar said, the Lady Hardinge Medical College has a long history of more than a century and it has come a long way and is progressing with time.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The new IPD Block at Lady Hardinge Medical College will increase its bed strength from 877 to more than 1,000 beds. The new multi-speciality OPD Block has additional facilities for holistic health care including all medical and surgical specialities, Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy and Homeopathy.</span><br />
