Government is working for total transformation of railways and improvement in customer services in the country. Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu said his ministry is focusing on increasing speed and number of trains and cutting down delays, besides handling more cargo. In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, Mr. Prabhu said in the next few years, there will be a significant improvement in the railway operations. <br/><br/>He said, for trains to reach on time, there is a need of augmented capacity because today there are more trains running on the tracks than they can handle. He said the government is working in this direction and after three years, there will be significant improvement in railways' performance in terms of punctuality. <br/><br/>The Minister said, the Railways is also taking several steps to improve passengers amenities.
