The Government is working on an action plan for effective implementation of the Namami Gange programme with hundred per cent Union funding. It will soon get the cabinet approval. Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati told the Lok Sabha while replying to a supplementary during Question Hour today. <br/><br/>Stating that about 29 thousand crore rupees will be required for implementation of the action plan, she said expertise is being sought from various institutions and NGOs. In reply to the main question, the Minister said a sum of 528 crore rupees have been earmarked for the Nirmal Ganga Sahbhagita initiative. Of this, 91 lakh rupees have been spent so far under the programme.
