The Government is willing to give greater autonomy to premier professional educational institutes such as IIMs and IITs. The Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Mrs. D Purandeswari said today in Hyderabad that autonomy will bring in greater flexibility within the system and encourage the institutes to do much better than what they are doing now. She was talking to reporters on the sidelines of an international conference.

Mrs. D Purandeswari said, Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal is in discussion with all premier institutes on the autonomy issue.
