Govt. will soon bring solid waste management rule and strictly adhere to it: Prakash Javadekar

The government will soon bring solid waste management rule and strictly adhere to it. Union Minister for Environment & Forests, Mr. Prakash Javadekar said this at the inaugural session of the one-day seminar on climate change held at the University of Mumbai, today. The Theme of the seminar was "COP21 Building Synergies, shaping actions."<br/><br/>Mr. Javadekar said that earlier solid waste management has never been implemented beyond municipal level but now it will be implemented at Gram Panchayat level too.<br/><br/>The Minister said that the construction and demolition waste will be converted in such a manner that it can be reused. He also informed that under the new government, forest cover has increased by 3000 sq-km in the past two years. He also imparted information on process and negotiation of COP21 held at Paris.<br/><br/>Union Energy Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal, delivering the keynote address, said the government is committed to better living and better environment for the people.
