Govt will not tolerate violation of air safety norms: Ajit Singh

The Civil Aviation Minister Mr Ajit Singh today asserted that Government will not tolerate any violation of Air safety norms and there will be no compromise on this issue. He told this to reporters in New Delhi while replying to a question on findings of Directorate General of Civil Aviation, DGCA that financial distress is leading airlines to violate laid down safety norms.

He said that DGCA's job is to constantly monitor these issues and pull up the airlines if they fail to fulfill these safety norms. A financial audit carried out by DGCA found that widespread sickness in the aviation industry is seriously impacting safety of flight operations and recommended action under Aircraft Rules and the Civil Aviation Requirements.
