West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee has firmly said that the government will not tolerate any attempt to stall the development process in the Darjeeling hill. Addressing a function at Siliguri in North Bengal on Tuesday, Ms. Banerjee criticised the opposition for its attempt to stop developmental activities in the hill.Ms. Banerjee said that her government has put equal importance from the development of hills and plains in the state. AIR correspondent reports from Siliguri that after signing of the tripartite agreement of the development of the Darjeeling hill on Monday, Ms. Banerjee on Tuesday launched a series of programmes for the welfare of the people living in plain areas of North Bengal. These include setting up of the Chief Minister's Secretariat in North Bengal launching of flight operation from Coochbehar to Kolkata and also several other railway projects. Railway Minister Mr. Dinesh Trivedi was also present on the occasion.
