Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Textile Mrs. Smriti Irani has said, government will ensure that honest traders, businessmen and tax payers are not harassed by any Government agency under GST. She said, nobody will ask about the past transactions of the people who want to come under the formal economy through the new tax regime. Addressing a seminar on "GST- a tool to inclusive growth" at Ahmedabad in Gujarat today, the Minister urged the business community to become a part of this historic tax reform.<br/><br/>Mrs. Irani said, GST is a part of series of reforms initiated by Narendra Modi Government in last three years. She said, Jandhan Yojana, Insurance Schemes for social security of common people, Mudra Yojana and demonetization to check black money are aimed to benefit the poor and common people of the country.
