Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated that the Government will continue to support the indigenous production in defence equipments under the Atma Nirbhar Scheme. Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha today, the minister said that 68 percent of the budget is allocated for Defence. Mr Singh said the overall trend in defence spending is based on defence capability development requirements and the expenditure on defence services including modernization.<br />''<br />''The minister said the defence budget which was 2,53,346 crore rupees in 2013-14 has more than doubled to 5,25,166 crore rupees in 2022-23. Mr Singh said the progress of expenditure is reviewed from time to time to ensure that the allocated funds are optimally utilized towards operational activities.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt told that the Country has ranked third in the world in terms of defence expenditure. He told that there was no shortage of finances to modernize the defence forces.</span><br />
