The Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram on Thursday said that the government will begin consultation process with all political parties before taking any appropriate decision on the Telangana issue. In a statement issued to press after he received the report from the Chairman of the Committee Justice B. N. Srikrishna, Mr. Chidambaram said that the government will consider the report and share it with the Ministries and Departments concerned. He added that a meeting of political parties is being convened on the 6th of next month to discuss the report. The Home Minister said that the letters to the political parties are being sent on Thursday itself. He announced that the report will be made public after the consultation with the political parties on 6th of January itself. Expressing gratitude to the committee for holding holistic discussions on the issue with all stakeholders, the Home Minister appealed the media to communicate the contents of the report in a fair, impartial and balanced way and promote sober and mature debate.Speaking to reporters after submitting the report Justice Krishna said that the two volume report provides the way forward to deal with the issue. Four other members of the panel accompanied Justice Krishna when he submitted the report.The Committee was constituted on 3rd of February this year with a mandate whether to keep united Andhra Pradesh or carve out a separate Telangana state. The term of the Committee is expiring on Friday.Meanwhile, the Home Minister has reassured the people of Andhra Pradesh that the deployment of the security forces is purely a precautionary measure and they will remain in force headquarters or police stations as a reserve force. He also said that he has faith in the wisdom of the people of Andhra Pradesh and expressed confidence that the present atmosphere of peace and harmony will continue to prevail.
