Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said the government will come out with more steps to rationalize subsidies.Addressing a function in New Delhi, Mr. Jaitley said he had held a series of meetings with the Expenditure Management Commission and it is effectively working on some very valuable suggestions with regard to rationalization of subsidies.He said the committee will be able to come out with some interim recommendations to the government to proceed with rationalisation soon.Recalling the government's decision to link the diesel prices with market price, the Minister said that it would help in reducing the subsidy burden. Mr. Jaitley also expressed confidence that the government would be able to push the Insurance and the GST bills in the current session of Parliament.About the government's views on the possibility of a joint session of Parliament to push the bills, the minister said the centre do not want to use it for legislations.
