Govt urges States, UTs to facilitate administration of precautionary doses to eligible beneficiaries scheduled to start from Jan 10

<span style="color: #222222;">The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has urged the States and Union Territories to facilitate the administration of precautionary doses to eligible beneficiaries which is scheduled to start from 10th of this month.<br />''<br />''In a letter written to States and Union Territories today by the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, it has been said that administration of precautionary dose for healthcare workers, front line workers and person aged above 60 years with co-morbidities will start from coming Monday under the Nationwide Vaccination Programme. Mr. Bhushan urged the States and UTs to facilitate the administration of precautionary doses to eligible beneficiaries as was done during the administration of two dose vaccinations.<br />''<br />''Under the national Covid-19 vaccination programme, more than 148 crore doses of vaccines have already been administered. 91 per cent of the adult population has received at least one dose while 66 per cent have been fully vaccinated. The Health and Family Welfare Ministry has said, more than 17 per cent of the adolescents aged between 15 to 18 years have received the first Covid-19 jab within three days of initiation of vaccination for this age group.</span><br />
