Govt urges Houthis to ensure safety and well-being of crew members and release them immediately

<span style="color: #222222;">India is closely monitoring developments following the seizure of the UAE flagged ship Rwabee off the port of Hodeidah in Yemen by the Houthis on 2nd of January. In response to media queries on Indian sailors on the ship, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said India is in touch with the company operating the ship. He said that out of the 11 crew members onboard the ship, seven are from India. The spokesperson said that all Indian crew members are safe and India is making all efforts to secure their early release. He urged the Houthis to ensure the safety and well-being of the crew members and release them immediately.<br />''<br />''India has also expressed concerns at the recent intensification of fighting in Yemen and hoped that all parties will come to the negotiating table to find a peaceful resolution to the Yemen issue.</span><br />
