Govt trying to evolve consensus to pass Lokpal Bill: V Naraynasamy

Minister of state in the Prime minister's office V Naraynasamy today said government is committed to pass the Lokpal Bill as early as possible.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi, Mr Naraynasamy said the government does not have adequate numbers to pass the legislation in the Rajya Sabha.

He said that the government is talking to opposition parties to arrive at a consensus on the issue. The Minister expressed hope that the bill will be passed in the current session of Parliament.
