Govt trying to bring down defence procurement process to 3 years: Defence Minister

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has said that the Government is trying to bring down the defence procurement process to three years from present an average of five years.<br/><br/>Addressing annual session of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi on Saturday, Mr Parrikar said the government will bring out a comprehensive document on the Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP) to satisfaction of India Inc in general and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in particular. <br/><br/>The Defence Minister urged members of industry to give a critical view on the proposed DPP as their criticism would enable the government in preparing the document of simplified procedures.<br/><br/>He said it will help in making India self reliant in defence production as well.
