The Petroleum Minister Murli Deora has said the government is trying its best to ensure that the oil prices are not raised. While speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Monday, Mr Deora said that he is meeting the Finance minister on Tuesday to discuss the issue of under recoveries of oil marketing companies (OMC).The under recoveries are estimated to be forty thousand crore rupees. He said that the finance ministry had promised to bear the under recoveries of kerosene and gas which estimate to be around twenty one thousand crore.The finance ministry has already released twelve thousand crore rupees to meet these under recoveries partially. Mr Deora said that the Kirit Parikh committee report is expected this week and the ministry will take up any further decision on fuel only after going through the report.
