Govt tracking foreign money through NGOs: Kiren Rijiju

Government is monitoring the flow of foreign money through Non Governmental Organisations, NGOs in the country and issued notices to more than ten thousand organisations for not filing returns in time. Replying supplementaries today in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju informed that 23 cases are under investigation by the CBI. CBI Courts have convicted in six cases. He said cases have also been lodged by the different State Police against the NGOs. He said government has followed strict rules in registration of NGOs and filing of their returns. He said government is determined to take action against the NGOs engaged in unlawful activities and who violated the rules and regulations of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, FCRA.
